RULES OF THE ROAD


1. Road Captain Will lead and set the pace. The Road Captain will make the route clear and direct both the route and all stopping points. Riders will respect the Road Captain’s pace, direction, and instructions or leave the group. Formation CO & Road Captain lead, behind them XO and flag bearer, then the rest of club. Tailgunner in the rear of formation.
2. Road Captain is responsible for keeping the group together and arranging rest and gas stops. The Road Captain will be aware of the number of riders and be sure that all are accounted for throughout the run.
3. Road Captain will read these Rules and give an example of the Basic Road Signals before each run.
4. Each rider is responsible for keeping the rider ahead and behind him/her in view and for passing road signals both behind and ahead.
5. Any rider leaving the run MUST inform the Road Captain that he/she will be leaving the group. If at all possible, leaving the group should occur at a rest or gas stop.
6. Any rider who becomes separated from the group should STOP. Wait for a rider to come back to you. Make every attempt to stay up with the group and signal if you must stop for any reason.
7. ALWAYS use the staggered formation with 1 second intervals. On two lane and/or curving roads use single file formation with 2 or more second intervals. NO RIDING BESIDE ANOTHER RIDER.
8. Learn the Basic Road Signals and use them.
